New poster ideas
After going with my original idea, i realised that as the two half's are completely different i.e features and the structure and size and the head it would not be possible to merge them together, because one would be bigger than the other. Proof of this will be posted at a later day. Hence i have come up with a new idea, a family photo album will be displayed on the poster, with the antagonists family members (also his main targets) except his picture will be teared in half, indicating his separateness from the family. Luckily i have found an old album like this one at home!

The idea of having no viewable faces in my trailer.
After having a conversation about my trailer with the media teacher, I have decided that the audience will only be able to see the protagonists flash back of him as a child, as i want to build up suspense and make things appear more tense. Although this was not a technique come up with myself. I got it from my research, from a trailer I watched. When watching it from my perspective it really does build up tension, making the audience wondering who is it and what he looks like!
In my trailer the viewer is able to see the the antagonist/protagonists face for a short space of time. Although there are flashbacks of him as a child, from doing this I didn't want to show the current mature state that he was in as I felt that it would be giving away too much, as it is only meant to be a teaser trailer.

FINAL VOICEOVER FOR FILM, PROOF PICTURES.
This picture is proof to show that I have a, completed my trailer (which has been completed for the past week, but i haven't had a chance to upload it yet) and b, the voice overs have been completed. After recording this i simply subtracted the sound and copied and pasted onto garage band. Then I separated the two, shared it with I TUNES making it a song track format, which I then imported into I MOVIE at the relevant parts of my teaser trailer.
Final poster idea.
I have decided that my poster shall contain 1 full close up face shot, of two faces half and half joined together. An image that i have found from a mainstream media film has been posted below.
I decided that one side of the face shall be the antagonist or what could also be considered in my film as the main character as a child, and the other an adult.
- Both half's will be in black and white.
- The child's side will be sad and innocent and may have a tear drop rolling down his cheek.
- The older version of him will look evil with a red eye and scary grin.
I wanted to do this as these two different but same characters appear in my teaser trailer, and is focused about the transition of how he became like that from an innocent sweet and hurt child.
DEVELOPMENT OF POSTER.
After looking at my research that I had conducted I thought it was important that I start from the bottom up, as this is most important and where most of the items on the page are.
This was the first aspect of my poster that I created. I thought it was important to include as nearly every poster has it. I noticed from my research that the actors/ producers names are often capitalised for example assistant producer- TOM TRIM, this is why i done it on my one so it could resemble more professional ones. I also used this on my trailer to appear in the 'Coming Soon' slide. Interestingly, again referring back to my research the bottom parts of the poster are normally done in tall narrow fonts to take up less space. I done this by first typing it out on Microsoft word, and then pasting it into photoshop, as it was in this programme that it was more easy to navigate around the page.
This was the first title that I came up with. I decided that I would call the film victim as it has a double meaning, and this would be emphasised by placing it twice in the title. This is because both the antagonist and the protagonist are victims in some way. However my film highlights the facet that my antagonist who can also be considered as the protagonist, has been made a victim in his childhood. By having the red 'Victim' title which symbolises pain, suffering, blood and death and then the white victim sign, symbolising innocence however as iIhave shaded it of I would like to think that this conveys the darkness and sinister part of my teaser trailer. The hand print adds suspense as it leaves the viewer wondering what it is made out of... blood? and it generally gives it a more scary/tense affect.
Other ideas including my final are posted below;
I did like this choice and was going to make it my final, although when asking the class, teachers and peers including a survey, it became apparent that this was not clear and that some got jumbled up between the two and that is was rather confusing.
This was my final choice, and was the most favourable in the surveys that I had conducted. I and many others liked the way the white line which was done on photoshop this resembling some sort of mirror. But, when looking at this I felt that it wasn't eye catching enough so I decided that I would add something extra. This being a 'heart-beat' line.
The Heart Beat Line.
After considering this for some time i thought it would be best to put in. Plus i had the heart-beat sound effects within my teaser trailer, which made the two relate.
After looking at various images and from a conversation from a media student, I drew it on photoshop. Making sure it had the 4 big points up and down to resemble real life ones then i decided I would have it going flat as if someone had died etc. After doing an in class survey, this choice was really popular and did have a big impact. Below is my finished logo.
Posted below is the date and tag line that i also created.
I decided to reflect the release date as it looked really professional, I found this easy with the use of the photoshop air brush tool. The tag-line to accompany my release date was 'Everyone has a dark side' meaning that no one is perfect and we all have our horrible traits. This made the poster look eerie and nerving another affect that i was hoping to achieve, and was successful through the use of this.
Main 'Slogan'
I decided to have an everyday used catchphrase as I wanted to twist it to mean something else out of context which I think worked really well in creating certain atmospheres, as in my experience it is usually used in a comic way. The 'ones...' at the end was placed in red as i wanted to make it stand out as I believe that the viewers could then refer to the 'one' to my antagonist. This was situated above my actors names, in which their surnames were highlighted in a different colour, as looking back on my research this technique is usually used, as actors are usually known by their surnames.
